Response from The Right Honourable Mayor Baron Houchen of High Leven on his creation as a Life Peer and his appointment to The House of Lords.
Lord Houchen is the Mayor of Tees Valley.
He was nominated for a life peerage in Boris Johnson’s resignation honours in June 2023.
On 12th July 2023 he was created Baron Houchen of High Leven of Ingleby Barwick in the Borough of Stockton-on-Tees and was introduced to the House of Lords on 24th July 2024. He sits in the Lords for the Conservative Party.
