Response from His Grace The 11th Duke of Richmond, 11th Duke of Lennox, 11th Duke Aubigny, 6th Duke of Gordon on the passing of his mother, Susan, The Dowager Duchess of Richmond, Lennox, Aubigny and Gordon.
Born Susan Monica to Colonel Cecil and Louisa Greenville-Grey on 26th July 1932.
On 26th May 1911 she married Charles Gordon-Lennox, Earl of March and Kinrara who succeed as The 10th Duke of Richmond, 10th Duke of Lennox, 10th Duke Aubigny, 5th Duke of Gordon on 2nd November 1989.
She sadly passed away on 13th June 2023.
The Dukedom of Richmond was created in August 1675 by Charles II for Charles Lennox (Illigetimite son of Charles II and Louise de Keroualle, Duchess of Portsmouth) in The Peerage of England, created The Duke of Lennox September 1675 by Charles II in The Peerage of Scotland, Dukedom of Aubigny created in The Peerage of France by Louis XIV of France for Louise de Keroualle, Duchess of Portsmouth and inherited by her grandson in 1734, The 6th Duke was created Duke of Gordon in 1876 By Victoria in The Peerage of The United Kingdom; The subsidary titles of The Dukedoms are; Earl of March created in 1675 by Charles II in The Peerage of England, Earl of Darnley created in 1675 by Charles II in The Peerage of Scotland, Earl of Kinrara in the county of Inverness created in 1876 by Victoria in The Peerage of The United Kingdom, Baron of Settrington in the county of York created in 1675 by Charles II in The Peerage of England and Lord of Torboulton created in 1675 by Charles II in The Peerage of Scotland.
The Family seat is Goodwood House.
