The Master of The Horse is a ceremonial role and appears on state occasions, especially when the sovereign is mounted.
Lord de Mauley was Master of The Horse from 1st January 2018 to 18th June 2024 and was succeed by Thomas Ashton, 4th Baron Ashton of Hyde.
The reply is in the form of a card which on the front has a picture of Fabuleu de Maucour, a horse given to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth Il by President Macron of France and on the reverse is a handwritten message from Lord de Mauley thanking me for my wishes on his retirement.
