His Royal Highness became head of The Most Serene House of Braganza on 24th December 1976 and thus the claimant to The Throne of Portugal. He is The Titular King of Portugal and the Algarves.
His Royal Highness married Isabel de Herédia on 13th May 1995 in the Monastery of Jerónimos in Lisbon and presided over by Cardinal António Ribeiro, Patriarch of Lisbon.
