The couple, then His Royal Highness Filip, The prince de Asturias and Letizia Ortiz announced their engagement on 1st November 2003.
They were married on 22nd May 2004 in Almudena Cathedral at The Royal Palace of Madrid by Antonio María Rouco Varela, Archbishop of Madrid.
