Writing for Christmas

Merry Christmas

It is that time of year once again. A busy time for those us who write to Royals but I want this to be enjoyable for everyone and not to become a stressful occasion. I have taken the time to write a little guide to writing for Christmas the most magical time of the year and a time filled with many beautiful Christmas replies. If you need any help do not hesitate to contact me and i will be more then willing to help anyone. Lets enjoy this time and not get stressed their is no right or wrong way to write but i hope this guide helps you this season. Do not feel pressure from others who have a crazy long list while you might only have a short list of 2-5 that is up to you. Each of us is different and some only follow one or two Royal Families while others follow more. The important thing is to enjoy writing to The Royals, enjoy getting the replies and enjoy the experience.

Some things to consider before you write.

1.  Set a budget of how much you are going to spend as stamps can be expensive.
2. Decide if your going to send cards or letters or a mixture of both.
3. Make a list of who you are going to write to.
4. Do not feel pressured to keep adding to your list just because some others are sending more then you.
5. Remember writing to a Royal or person does not guarantee you a response, some royal reply some do not and other only seem to send out a certain amount of replies.
6. Remember this is a busy time for Royal Offices so it may take some time for a reply to arrive. Plus also remember its their Christmas too so some will be closed for a period over the Holidays.

8. My list contains over 60 cards that I am sending but this by no way means that you must send as many as that. Send as many or as little as you want.

When writing your Letters/Cards.

1. Make to sure to use the correct style of address for The Royal you are writing to such as His/Her/Their/Your Majesty/Majesties or Royal Highness/Highnesses or Serene Highness/Highnesses. 
2. Make sure to use the correct title for the Royal such as King/Queen, Prince/Princess, Duke/duchess. You should note that although the media call them Kate Middleton or Meghan Markle they are in fact Her/Your Royal Highness The Duchess of Cambridge and The Duchess of Sussex respectfully and you should address them as such.
3. Do your research on the correct style of address/ title and if you have any trouble then drop me an email royalresponse@gmail.com or find me on Instagram as @royalresponses.

5. If you are handwriting your cards/letters then make sure to write nice and neat and legible as you must remember people have to read them in the offices.
6. Take your time when writing them and start early, maybe only writing a few a day so as not to put too much pressure on yourself.

Sending your cards/letters

1. Now some points on sending your cards
2. Make sure to check that the address is correct before you send it.
3. Make sure to have included your return address on either the card itself or the envelope or both. I would suggest to definitely put it on the envelope as for if some reason your letter/card can not be delivered then it can be returned to you.
4. Now the big debate when to send them and this a really tough one to advise on.
5. Send them to early and run the risk of them arriving before the Christmas responses are printed, send too late and run the risk of it been a very late reply in January sometime. The most important part of this is that they get there.
6. Last year I sent mine on November 28th and I believe this year I will send them around the same date. It really is a matter of personal preference on when to send them but I would suggest the very end of November or early December.
7. Do remember the offices are busy at this time and will be closed for a period over the Christmas holidays so do not panic if you do not receive a reply quickly as replies for Christmas can come in February and March.
