Prince Edward, The Duke of Kent’s 85th Birthday

Royal response from his Royal Highness Prince Edward, The 2nd Duke of Kent on the occasion of his 85th Birthday. 

Born Edward George Nicholas Paul Patrick on 9th October 1935 to Their Royal Highnesses Prince George and Princess Marine, The 1st Duke and Duchess of Kent.

He has held the position of The Duke of Kent since he was 6 years of age and his full title is Field Marshal Prince Edward George Nicholas Paul Patrick, Duke of Kent, Earl of St Andrews and Baron Downpatrick, Royal Knight of The Most Noble Order of the Garter, Grand Master and Knight Grand Cross of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Knight Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, Personal Aide-de-Camp to Her Majesty. 

His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent is the son of His Royal Highness Prince George, Duke of Kent ( Fourth son of Their Majesties King George V and Queen Mary, younger brother of Their Majesties King Edward VIII and King George VI and Her Royal Highness Princess Marina, Duchess of Kent born Princess Marina of Greece and Denmark.

He is a first cousin of Her Majesty The Queen due to their fathers been brother and is also the first cousin once removed to His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh as his mother and The Duke of Edinburgh were first cousins. The reply is in the form of a letter thanking me for my birthday wishes and is signed by Mrs Gill Pearson who is the Personal Assistant to His Royal Highness The Duke of Kent. His offices are located at St. James Palace.
