His Serene Highness succeeded to The Throne on the passing of his father Rainier III, The Prince of Monaco on 6th April 2005. Born Albert Alexandre Louis Pierre Grimaldi on 14th March 1958 to Rainier III and Grace, The Prince and Princes of Monaco, he is the second child and only son of the couple and had been The Heir Apparent since his birth.
